The socialist deputy spokesperson, Begoña Medina, conveyed these demands after visiting the area with residents, who highlighted "deficiencies" such as a lack of cleaning staff, the presence of rats, bad odors from unmaintained sewage systems, and insufficient tree pruning.
Medina also warned about the "dangerous tangle of overhead wires," which has recently caused fires, and the urgent need to asphalt streets and repair sidewalks where residents frequently fall.
The socialist representative emphasized the need to "not look the other way" and invest in the neighborhood, criticizing that "we cannot have a two-speed Malaga" – one with "the mayor's big headlines in large photos and another Malaga, that of abandoned neighborhoods like Sixto."
Residents themselves have expressed concern over the "daily deterioration of their environment" and are calling for municipal intervention to address their needs.
