Renfe has designed an alternative road transport plan for passengers affected by infrastructure improvement works on the C2 Cercanias line, connecting Malaga with Alora. These activities, scheduled from May 22 to June 8, will also impact Media Distancia trains linking Sevilla with Malaga.
The plan for the C2 line involves travelers taking a train from Malaga to Cártama station. There, they will transfer to a bus to complete the journey to Alora or to El Chorro - Caminito del Rey. Departure times from Malaga are 5:44, 7:00, 8:00, 9:40 (arriving at El Chorro at 11:20), 11:40, 12:40, 13:40, 14:40, 15:40, 17:40 (arriving at El Chorro at 19:19), 18:39, 19:40, 20:40, and 21:40.
In the opposite direction, from Alora, the journey will begin by bus. Departure times are: 6:06, 7:24, 8:22, 10:24 (departing from El Chorro at 9:54), 12:24, 13:23, 14:24, 15:24, 16:24, 18:22 (departing from El Chorro at 17:52), 19:23, 20:25, 21:24, and the last one at 22:16.
The disruptions will extend to the morning of June 9, with the first train from Malaga departing at 5:44 and from Alora at 6:37.
For the Media Distancia trains between Sevilla and Malaga, buses will be provided to cover the section between Antequera and Malaga. This bus service will also apply to the afternoon trains on May 21 (departures from Sevilla at 18:34 and 20:12) and in the reverse direction on June 9 (departures from Malaga at 7:02 and 9:16).
During the works period, journeys to and from Bobadilla and El Chorro - Caminito del Rey will be carried out by taxis with special routes, adapted to the origin and destination of each trip.
Renfe is informing users about these changes through its website, social media, the Cercanias app, WhatsApp, signage, and public address systems at stations.
