The Castillo del Cante Flamenco Festival, one of the most traditional cultural events in the province of Málaga, celebrates its 51st edition next Saturday, August 1st, in Ojén. The event, held in the courtyard of CEIP Los Llanos starting at 10:00 PM, will gather prominent figures of the jondo art.
The lineup is headlined by Israel Fernández, considered one of the most influential voices in contemporary flamenco, who will perform accompanied by guitarist Diego del Morao. Their performance promises a repertoire that blends flamenco tradition with a contemporary sensibility.
The program also includes the highly anticipated performance by El Pele, accompanied by El Niño Seve. Completing the lineup are Aurora Vargas with the guitar of El Perla, and El Canario alongside Manuel Jesús Carrillo. Dance will be represented by Fina la Churruca and her group.
The festival presentation will be led by Salvador de la Peña, a communicator specializing in flamenco. With over fifty years of history, Castillo del Cante solidifies its role as a cultural benchmark, keeping alive the connection between Ojén and flamenco.
