Improvement works on the MA-21, in the direction of Malaga, are set to begin this Thursday, May 6. The operations will be carried out during nighttime hours, from 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM, to minimize inconvenience for drivers. During this period, the affected road section will be closed to all vehicle traffic, with the exception of Friday and Saturday nights, when no work will be performed.
The closure will be complete on the MA-21 towards Avenida Velázquez, at the Churriana junction. Traffic will be diverted to Avenida Montserrat Caballé. Although moderate traffic is expected during peak activity hours, drivers are advised to use alternative routes such as the MA-20 or the A-7 when traveling to Malaga from Churriana or Torremolinos.
Similarly, disruptions will occur on Avenida Manuel Fraga Iribarne in Torremolinos, also in the direction of Malaga. For this section, the alternative route established is the connecting ramp from the N-340 to the MA-20.
The works will be executed by the UTE Suministros Asfálticos, S.L. – Firmes y Asfaltados del Sur, S.L., companies responsible for the asphalt paving contract for high-traffic roads in the city. It is estimated that the works will conclude during the week of May 17, though this timeline may vary depending on weather conditions, as resurfacing cannot be performed during periods of rain.
