The city of Malaga faces a weekend with significant mobility disruptions. Traffic cuts and diversions will be concentrated on Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24, primarily affecting the historic center, the La Victoria area, and the route of the Bike Day sporting event.
On Saturday, May 23, the procession of María Santísima de Araceli will begin at 6:00 PM from the church of San Julián, passing through central streets such as Nosquera, Comedias, Granada, and plaza del Obispo. Later, at 6:30 PM, the procession of Pentecostés de María Santísima del Rocío Coronada will take place, starting from Párroco Ruiz Furest and going through Altozano and Compás de la Victoria.
In the early hours of Sunday, at 1:00 AM, the return procession of María Santísima del Rocío Coronada will occur, starting from Párroco Ruiz Furest and continuing through Altozano and plaza de la Victoria.
The main traffic disruption is expected on Sunday, May 24, with the 19th edition of Bike Day. Starting at 10:00 AM, the event's route will be closed to traffic, including streets like paseo del Parque, Alameda Principal, avenida de Andalucía, and avenida de la Aurora, with reopening anticipated around 1:00 PM.
EMT bus lines running along the Bike Day route will also be affected. The Malaga City Council recommends consulting the official website or mobile application of EMT Málaga for detailed information on schedules, diversions, and alternative stops.
