The Works Council of Málaga Metro has called off the strike scheduled for this Thursday, April 15, 2026, following a meeting with management that led to a rapprochement between both parties.
The suspension of the strike, announced this Wednesday, primarily aims to foster continued dialogue and advance towards a labor agreement that resolves the ongoing conflict. According to the Works Council, this decision reflects a commitment to responsibility and the genuine willingness to negotiate that the workforce has demonstrated throughout the dispute.
“
"This decision responds to an exercise of responsibility and the real will to negotiate that the workforce has been demonstrating throughout the entire conflict, prioritizing at this moment the possibility of continuing to bring positions closer."
Negotiations between Málaga Metro workers and management have been postponed until next Thursday. The objective is to continue making progress on outstanding issues and definitively unblock the current situation.
The social representation insists on the need to reach an agreement that improves conditions for all employees. They consider it essential for the company to make significant progress that addresses the fundamental demands of the workforce, both in terms of salaries and key aspects of work organization.

"We want an agreement to be reached, and it is essential that the company specifies advances that respond to the fundamental demands of the workforce, both in terms of salary and key aspects of work organization."
Despite the cancellation of Thursday's strike, the Works Council emphasized that the labor dispute remains open. They clarified that suspending this day of strike does not imply abandoning future mobilizations, which could resume if no real progress is made in negotiations.
“
"The conflict remains open, and the cancellation of this strike day does not imply, in any case, the renunciation of mobilizations, which could be resumed if no real progress is made in the negotiation."
Finally, any proposal representing significant progress will be presented to the workers' assembly, who will have the final say on accepting or rejecting the proposed terms.
