The City Council has reported that the program, which includes visits, educational workshops, and magic sessions, will begin on Monday, April 20, and will run throughout the week. These initiatives aim to celebrate the event, which coincides with the passing of literary figures such as Miguel de Cervantes and William Shakespeare.
Highlights include poetry workshops, adult reading clubs, and magic shows, which will take place in different city districts. Additionally, a specific program has been designed in collaboration with educational centers, offering activities such as 'Get to Know Your Library' for Primary and Secondary school students in libraries like Manuel Altolaguirre, Jorge Luis Borges, Salvador Rueda, and Emilio Prados.
For younger children, there will be 'Book Day Storytelling' at the Francisco de Quevedo library, aimed at Early Childhood Education students, and book presentations for Primary students at the Jorge Guillén library. The Adult Reading Club, with free registration, will meet to discuss works such as Rewind by Juan Tallón and Cervantes para cabras; Marx para ovejas by Pablo Santiago Chiquero.
'Story Afternoons,' narrated by 'Cientacuentos y Cuentapies' with the title 'Shall I tell you a story by phone? A Tribute to Gianni Rodari,' are aimed at children aged four to ten and will take place on April 23 at the Vicente Espinel library. 'Stories in the Air' will also be offered in parks such as Parque de las Cofradías, Parque del Oeste, Parque del Norte, Parque del Día, and Parque María Luisa, combining fun, games, and reading for children and families.
The program is completed with family workshops, creative craft workshops, and the magic show 'El gran Dullón' for children aged seven to twelve. Furthermore, a talk for adults on the life and work of Agatha Christie has been organized, marking the 50th anniversary of her passing, which will take place on April 22 at the Manuel Altolaguirre library.
