The Málaga Fair is approaching, and the City Council has released the mayor's decree outlining the rules for the celebration. This year, the fair will feature Juanfran Funes, coach of Málaga CF, as the official announcer, alongside performances by artists such as Nancys Rubias, Antonio Carmona, and Medina Azahara.
In the Historic Center, the fair will commence at 12:00 PM and conclude at 6:00 PM, at which point music in the streets will cease. Music will only be permitted inside licensed hospitality establishments and within authorized levels. The installation of outdoor or open-air bars by hospitality businesses in the historic center fair is prohibited.
Booths at the Fairgrounds (Recinto Ferial) will open from 2:00 PM. Their daily activity may end between 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM, extending to 7:00 AM on holidays and eves.
Booths in the Youth Zone will close at 7:00 AM and will only allow access to individuals over 16 years old, with specific conditions for those under 18 if authorized and publicly displayed. These booths will require private security surveillance services.
Booths in the Family Zone may remove traditional tables and chairs from 2:00 AM onwards without exceeding authorized capacity. Those with specific admission conditions may restrict access for individuals under 16 if not accompanied by a legally responsible adult. They must also implement necessary control and surveillance measures.
Access to all booths at the Fairgrounds, both in the family and youth zones, will be free and open. Any charge, requirement of an invitation, prior consumption, or pass for entry or return is prohibited, with non-compliance being a common reason for sanctions.
The Málaga Transport Company (EMT) will extend bus services and schedules, reinforcing lines on the night of the fireworks and the connection between neighborhoods and the Real from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Line F will connect the City Center with the Fairgrounds 24 hours a day throughout the fair.
Taxi and VTC (Vehicle for Hire) stops will be available 24 hours. VTCs will have a designated area for passenger pick-up and drop-off on Av. Ortega y Gasset, with access and exit controlled by Local Police to prevent client solicitation.
During the fair week, the Cortijo Alto neighborhood will have traffic restrictions, allowing access only to residents and EMT buses between 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Discretionary buses will pick up and drop off passengers at EMT stops, parking in the 'ZONA UNIVERSIDAD'.
Access to the Historic Center will be restricted, with the access control system operating similarly to the fair decree, except for emergencies. Loading and unloading tasks in the Historic Center will take place from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM on weekdays, and from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM on holidays.
