The 2026 Málaga Fair will implement a reinforced security device that will include more video surveillance, police presence, traffic and alcohol controls, health assistance, and emergency teams in both the Center and the Cortijo de Torres fairgrounds.
Sixteen new video surveillance cameras will be added at key points of the fairgrounds, supplementing the existing devices in the Historic Center. These new cameras will be located in main avenues and areas near public transport stops. The measure has the authorization of the Andalusia Videovigilance Guarantee Commission.
An aerial surveillance system using drones will fly over the fairgrounds daily to detect incidents and support officers. This resource has also been used for other large-scale events such as Holy Week and Christmas.
The Local Police plans to carry out 4,434 services during the Fair, averaging 443 officers daily. The extraordinary operation will add 2,166 services to the 2,268 ordinary ones, complemented by the National Police and the Civil Guard.
The Operational Support Group (GOA), the Canine Subgroup, the Research and Protection Group (GIP), and the Accident and Traffic Investigation Group (GIAA) will reinforce surveillance and conduct preventive alcohol checks.
Police priorities will include controlling bladed weapons, the sale of alcohol to minors, compliance with closing times, inspection of stalls, and the prevention of uncivil behavior. The 092 Room and the Municipal Emergency Center will coordinate interventions and video surveillance.
The operation will be complemented by units from the National Police, Civil Guard, and the 061 emergency service. They will be distributed by sectors in key public gathering points, and physical facilities for the Local Police and National Police will be established at the fairgrounds.
Physical obstacles such as concrete blocks and planters will be used to control access in high-concentration areas. The special operation will begin on Friday, August 14, and continue until Sunday, August 23.
The Local Police's Nature Protection Group (GRUPRONA), along with the Civil Guard's SEPRONA and the City Council's Food Safety Service, will conduct health inspections of food and fishery products.
The Civil Guard will control access to the city and ring roads, while the Local Police will manage internal traffic restrictions and diversions. Alcohol and drug checkpoints will be set up in surrounding areas.
The Málaga Fire Department will deploy daily crews in the Center and the Real, with three fire engines available. The fireworks night will have a specific operation.
Medical attention will be coordinated by the Firefighter Medical Unit, with assistance modules at Plaza de la Marina and Cortijo de Torres. Ambulance services will operate continuously.
Civil Protection will offer free identification bracelets for minors and the elderly at their fixed points in the Center and the Real to facilitate their location. The cardioprotection device will include fixed and mobile defibrillators.
