After a month without scoring, the Málaga CF forward once again took center stage this Saturday by netting two goals against Castellón. Although the result was not enough to secure a victory, this performance allowed him to end a streak of five consecutive matches without scoring and regain his goal-scoring instinct at a decisive moment in the campaign.
The player was responsible for opening the scoring in the 10th minute from the penalty spot, deceiving the opposing goalkeeper. Despite a challenging match in terms of playing with his back to goal, he managed to add a second goal with a pure striker's finish, anticipating the center-back in the small area and placing the ball against the post.
This performance not only allows Málaga CF to recover its top scorer but also highlights his versatility beyond just goals. The striker has maintained his leadership in pressing, constantly seeking balls behind the defense, creating opportunities for his teammates, and recovering important possessions, thus contributing beyond his nearly twenty goals.
This marks his seventh brace of the season. Of the 18 goals he has scored in Segunda División, 14 have come in matches where he scored twice. These include games against Granada, Deportivo de La Coruña, Ceuta, Valladolid, Huesca, and Cádiz. Interestingly, only four of his goals have been individual, coinciding with Málaga CF's six consecutive victories between December and January.
With five matchdays remaining, the player has the opportunity to continue improving his individual statistics and contribute to the team's final objectives, where his goals are fundamental to Málaga CF's aspirations.
