The selection of the town crier who will officially open the 2026 Málaga Fair is currently unclear. In response, the City Council has released a video encouraging citizens to participate in the decision-making process through social media comments. The video features the mayor, Francisco De la Torre, and the Councilor for Festivities, Teresa Porras, who recall previous town criers such as El Kanka, María Peláe, and Alberto Díaz.
Through this campaign, the council aims to involve the people of Málaga in one of the most significant decisions before the celebration, which begins in less than three weeks.
Furthermore, Málaga now has its official poster for the 2026 Fair. The winning artwork, titled ‘Flores para la Victoria’ (Flowers for the Victory), is by the Málaga-based illustrator Patricia Castro Bohórquez. The poster aims to reflect the passion for the Virgen de la Victoria, a figure that unites a large part of the city.
This artwork was chosen from 177 proposals submitted to the contest organized by the City Council's Festivities Area. Patricia Castro Bohórquez not only receives recognition but also a prize of 3,600 euros for creating the official image of the 2026 Málaga Fair.
