The Urban Planning Council of the Malaga City Council has ratified the selection of the Marbella-based developer Sierra Blanca as the urban agent for the regeneration of El Bulto. This project, one of the most important for the city in the coming years, includes the construction of a 23-story tower designed by the prestigious studio of architect Zaha Hadid, located in the Carretera de Cádiz area.
The condition of urban agent for the execution unit SUNC-R.LO.1 'Ferrocarril del Puerto' has been awarded to Euro Andalucía Eventos S.L, linked to Sierra Blanca Estates, following a public bidding process. The selected entity will be responsible for the detailed planning of the area through an Interior Reform Plan (PRI) and the execution of the urbanization.
The other offer submitted by 'YU Sustainable Communities, S.L.-Guamar, S.A.' was rejected for failing to meet the technical and economic-legal requirements of the tender specifications.
The bidding process consisted of two phases: the selection of the 'Technical Alternative', where Sierra Blanca also received the highest valuation, and the subsequent evaluation of 'legal-economic proposals' for the selection of the urban agent. Sierra Blanca's proposal stands out for its commitment to the 23-story tower, designed by Zaha Hadid's studio, a recipient of the Pritzker Prize.
The El Bulto neighborhood, strategically located between Huelin Park and the San Andrés port platform, is poised to become a key area for Malaga's development, which will also feature a sports marina and the city's future Auditorium.
