The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated a yellow alert for rain and storms across the province of Málaga until Wednesday midday, anticipating precipitation accompanied by Saharan dust.

A new low-pressure system, located west of the Iberian Peninsula, is responsible for the return of rainfall to the province of Málaga. This meteorological phenomenon will favor the arrival of suspended dust, resulting in rain mixed with Saharan dust.
The affected regions under this warning include the Costa del Sol, the Guadalhorce Valley, Antequera, Ronda, and the Axarquía. Accumulated rainfall of 15 liters per square meter in one hour and up to 40 liters over 12 hours is expected, although the danger level is considered low.
During Wednesday, the heaviest rainfall is forecast between 10:00 and 14:00, with up to nine liters per square meter. Although the weather is expected to improve in the afternoon, further rain is anticipated between 21:00 and 01:00.
Aemet has indicated that the week will be marked by instability and thermal fluctuations. The unstable weather will begin on Tuesday due to an isolated cold low-pressure system southwest of the peninsula. Despite a brief return of sunshine on Thursday, new rains are forecast for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with a 100% probability of precipitation.
Regarding temperatures, Aemet predicts a general decrease, although the Costa del Sol might be spared from this drop. In this area, minimums will range between 14 and 17 degrees Celsius, with maximums around 20ºC.
