La Térmica, the contemporary culture center of the Provincial Council of Málaga, presents KRVZE, a new self-produced project taking place on Thursday, May 22nd. Conceived as a full-day event, it combines live music, installations, performances, and visual art, with free admission.
KRVZE deviates from the conventional festival format, aiming to create a space where different artistic languages and cultural traditions converge through experimental music, technology, and audiovisual arts. The project will feature creators from the United Kingdom, the Democratic Republic of Congo, France, Germany, Japan, and Spain.
The morning program begins at 12:30 PM in Room 005 with an open talk titled 'Live A/V: creating in the age of excess'. Moderated by Antonio Javier López, director of La Térmica, the session will bring together several participating artists to reflect on artistic creation in an environment saturated with images and technology. Attendees will also receive a ticket for the afternoon program.
Starting at 6:00 PM, the center will host several simultaneous activities. In Room 002, artists Irene Molina and Paco Ladrón will present 'Can I pet that dawg?!', a 40-minute performance exploring the relationships between power, care, and technology through interaction with a quadruped robot. There will be two showings: at 6:30 PM and 10:30 PM.
Room 008 will feature 'AXIAL-CORE' until 10:00 PM, an immersive installation by Leo Pum working with sound, light, and space. In the outdoor courtyards, 'Bycatch' by Daniel Hölzl and Abie Franklin will showcase fifteen large-format inflatable sculptures, while 'Future Meanings' by artist Roberto Rivadeneira is an audiovisual piece generated by artificial intelligence from images of the Amazon.
La Térmica's main stage will host renowned names from the international underground scene. Music kicks off in Room 005 with CRAVAT (6:00 PM), a Malagueño electronic dreampop project. They will be followed by Luxe (7:00 PM), an emerging artist from the British underground; Konono No.1 x Montparnasse Musique (8:15 PM), the Grammy-winning collective from Kinshasa returning with a new lineup; and NikNak (9:45 PM), a prominent figure in turntablism.
The event will close with NONOTAK (11:15 PM), a Franco-Japanese duo recognized for their large-scale audiovisual installations, presenting 'SHIRO', a visually impactful piece marking their return to live performance format.
Tickets for KRVZE are free and have limited capacity. They can be downloaded online starting Monday, May 18th, from La Térmica's website. They can also be collected in person on Thursday, May 21st, at the cultural center, located at Avenida de los Guindos, 48, until capacity is reached.
