The works, part of the Plan Andalucía Actúa, aim to restore normal road communications across 36 municipalities in Malaga. Official data indicates that the execution rate of these projects is currently nearing 40%.
Interventions range from stabilizing slopes and hillsides to reconstructing retaining walls and improving drainage systems. These measures are designed not only to repair immediate damage but also to make the road network more resilient against future extreme rainfall events.
A key focus of this investment is the A-7150 road in the municipality of Casares. Following closures due to landslides, 2.39 million euros were invested to stabilize slopes using high-resistance mesh and dynamic barriers, allowing the road to reopen to traffic.
In addition to these emergency works, the regional administration has announced a further renovation and resurfacing plan with a budget of 17.5 million euros, which will benefit 14 additional provincial roads to continue enhancing user safety.
