Over the past sixty days, the Junta de Andalucía has undertaken a total of 50 interventions in the province of Málaga. The delegate of the Andalusian Government in the province, Patricia Navarro, presented a review of these actions, emphasizing that despite electoral period limitations, the regional government maintained its work pace.
Navarro highlighted that these actions were made possible by the entry into force of the Andalusian budgets on January 1st, and have been developed in key sectors such as Development, Health, Agriculture, Housing, and Sustainability.
In the agricultural and hydraulic sectors, over 67 million euros have been mobilized, particularly following storm damage. The fishing sector received 16.6 million euros in direct aid. To improve mobility, 9.5 million was allocated to the improvement of 206 rural roads in 57 municipalities, and 7.5 million for actions in the Guadalhorce-Limonero system. 14 actions are ongoing in irrigation communities, and the wastewater treatment plant (EDAR) of Carratraca has been approved. Hydraulic infrastructure recovery works in Bajo Guadalhorce, Aljaima, and La Zangala have also been completed.
In Development, the integration of Vélez-Málaga into the Transport Consortium, progress on the A-357 integration, and the Ronda-Campillos highway project have been highlighted, overcoming a bidding company's appeal. The BUS-VAO lane in Alhaurín de la Torre and the final section of the Málaga Metro to the Civil Hospital are also advancing.
In terms of Housing, 50 VPO (social housing) in Málaga capital have been promoted with an investment of 7.9 million euros, and a residential building in Benalmádena has been rehabilitated with three million euros.
In Health, the health center in Rincón de la Victoria has been promoted, the one in Cártama is out for tender (over 2.5 million), and the emergency services in Playamar have been awarded (2.4 million). Works have begun on the second health center in Antequera (three million), the new proton therapy unit at the Materno Infantil, the blood transfusion center at the Civil Hospital (4.2 million), the new 061 base in La Roca, and a new mammograph for the Teatinos health center.
In Education, over 1.4 million euros have been allocated to schools affected by storms. In Torre del Mar, professional teaching courses are to be promoted at the conservatory for the 2027-2028 academic year.
