Known for owning the successful burger restaurants Moflete and Faakin Smash, and for creating the Ultimate Burger Championship, Joe Burger took advantage of his recent visit to Malaga to compile a list of establishments that, in his opinion, offer the best burgers in the area. His selection includes places with a history of awards and recognition, as well as some notable new additions.

Among his choices is La Burguesita, which he describes as “the city's most veteran.” Located at Paseo Cerrado de Calderón, 14 and Calle Moreno Monroy, 5, Joe Burger praises its adaptation to the smash burger trend and, especially, its “spectacular big burgers” made with Juanito Baker's potato bun and excellent quality meat.

Another establishment that caught the Youtuber's attention is USB, from Grupo El Caserito, located on Calle Carretería, 35. This place, specializing in smash burgers, is recognized for its “simple burger concept” and its Special Bacon Burger, which has already received several awards.

The list continues with Rub Smokehouse, on Calle Princesa, 10, by chef Sergio Redondo. Joe Burger highlights its Texan style, uncommon in Spain, where everything is homemade and the specialties are brisket and ribs. Their burgers, with smoked meat, are described as “very personal” and highly successful.

In the Huelin neighborhood, the Youtuber mentions Gottan (with locations at Álamos, 12; Antonio Soler, 5; and Andrómeda, 11), which he calls “the quintessential burger of Malaga.” He emphasizes Rigar's meat and Juanito's bun, as well as the rare cooking of the meat. For Joe Burger, Gottan is the best of all, being the champion of the Burger Show of 2024.

Finally, Dak Burger, at Av. de Mare Nostrum, local 8, also features in his selection. Located in La Cala de Mijas, it is renowned for its Vaca Vieja and Scarlett Johansson burgers, which are Joe Burger's favorites. He also mentions its smash version, Bsmash by Dak, on Héroe de Sostoa, 14, solidifying Dak Burger as a national benchmark.
