The fire started in the Gran Café bar, located on the hotel's ground floor, which has been completely destroyed. Extinguishing efforts have been complicated by the building's structure, which includes wrought iron, wood, and soundproofing materials, facilitating the rapid spread of flames and smoke.
The rapid spread of fire and smoke necessitated the evacuation of approximately one hundred guests staying at the hotel. The alert was received at 1:26 AM, and upon the arrival of the first units, the hotel was already being evacuated.
The structure of the premises, along with the soundproofing material, contributed to the swift propagation of flames and smoke. Parts of the fire remain hidden in various structural points, making its definitive localization difficult.
Four firefighting teams are currently on-site working to fully control the blaze. No injuries have been reported so far. The operation has been ongoing since the early morning, and the area remains under surveillance as ventilation and building inspection tasks continue.
