The incident occurred this Monday, August 17th, around 5:15 PM, when a plainclothes patrol observed a motorcycle traveling on José Blázquez El Maño street. Upon stopping the rider, officers discovered 91 packages of sushi in the storage compartment, destined for a stall at the Málaga Fair.
The rider identified himself as the owner of a restaurant establishment, stating he prepared the products and transported them in the motorcycle's trunk. However, local police determined that the compartment lacked a proper refrigeration system for food and only contained ice packs similar to those used in portable coolers.
Due to the lack of sanitary conditions, officers issued a citation. Subsequently, the sushi was placed in the destination stall's cold storage, where officers sealed and immobilized it to prevent consumption.
Finally, officers from the Local Police's Nature Protection Group (GRUPONA), along with an inspector from the municipal Health and Consumption Service, unsealed the food items and oversaw their voluntary disposal. The responsible party was reminded of the obligation to comply with current regulations regarding the transport and cold chain of food products.
