The anthem 'Málaga la bombonera', premiered in 1973 during a Costa del Sol Trophy against Boca Juniors, has established itself as one of the oldest and most emblematic in Spanish football.

The anthem 'Málaga la bombonera', which has become one of the most iconic and oldest melodies in Spanish football, originated in 1973. It was first performed during a Costa del Sol Trophy match against the Argentine team Boca Juniors. On the same day, the stadium also debuted its first electronic scoreboard.
In that match, played at a decorated La Rosaleda, the now-defunct CD Málaga defeated the Argentine team 4-2. Unlike more recent editions, that tournament featured four participating teams, including semifinals and a final round. The game that marked these two premieres was the first-round match.
The creation of the anthem is attributed to masters Posada and Borriño, who presented the piece under the title 'Málaga la Bombonera'. Although it competed with other proposals from different authors, it was ultimately the chosen one. The lyrics were written by Celada and Tenorio, and the performance was by the choirs and voices of the Military Band.
In more recent times, some Málaga CF fans joined the trend of creating new anthems, an initiative that the club itself has kept in mind. With Al Thani's arrival as president in 2010, versions like that of Chandé or, more recently, ‹Tracamatraca› by El Kanka emerged.
However, in recent times, the original anthem has regained prominence at La Rosaleda. For approximately the last five years, fans have frequently sung it a cappella, a practice that was not common in the past. Currently, the idea of replacing it with a new song seems unlikely, although in the world of football, everything is subject to change.
