While season ticket prices for the upcoming season will already be higher than in the Second Division, following the team away from home on TV will represent an even greater proportional expense.
Last season, watching LaLiga Hypermotion (Second Division) matches cost 9.99 euros per month without a commitment period on various platforms. However, to guarantee viewing all of Málaga CF's games in the new division, the price multiplies considerably.
The broadcasting rights for the First Division are shared between Movistar and DAZN. Movistar requires the subscription to its essential package (14 euros) and the specific LaLiga package (36 euros, or 50 euros if European competitions are included), in addition to mandating fiber and phone line contracts (53 euros per month). This amounts to a minimum of 103 euros monthly to not miss any Málaga match, although some games will be broadcast free-to-air or via the essential package.
On the other hand, DAZN's offer is more economical. With a 12-month commitment, the cost is 19.99 euros per month (currently reduced to 9.99 euros in a special offer) or 109.99 euros annually with a single payment. This subscription also includes other leagues such as the Premier League, Bundesliga, and Serie A, but does not guarantee coverage of the five weekly LaLiga matches that could include those of Málaga.
This is the current landscape as of June, prior to the start of the competition and any potential offers that platforms may launch. It is worth noting that Málaga CF has recorded significant viewership figures in LaLiga Hypermotion, especially during the playoffs, surpassing records from the last five years for Second Division matches.
