The Virgen de la Victoria Clinical University Hospital in Málaga has been decorated to celebrate the Málaga Fair with its patients and staff. As many individuals cannot enjoy the festivities due to health reasons, the hospital has brought the fair's decorations, music, and activities into the healthcare center.
To mark the start of the 2026 Málaga Fair, the Mayor, Francisco de la Torre, accompanied by the Councillor for Festivities, Teresa Porras, made his fifth annual visit to the hospital. During the tour, the mayor visited the Oncohematology and Neurology units to greet patients, families, and healthcare professionals, offering them encouragement and wishes for a speedy recovery.
This year's visit included representatives from Málaga Club de Fútbol, notably former player and club ambassador Jesús Gámez. The delegation also comprised the Director General of Healthcare Assistance, Antonio Cansino; the Territorial Delegate for Health and Consumption, Lucía Yeves; the Delegate for Housing, Youth, and Territorial Planning, María Rosa Morales; and the managing director of the university hospital complex, Jesús Fernández Galán.
The Mayor was welcomed by the flamenco choir Cortijo Alto, who performed a musical act. Additionally, a corner dedicated to the 2026 Fair has been set up in the blue courtyard of external consultations, featuring official posters from the Málaga City Council and a facade crafted from recycled wood by patient and retired carpenter Juan Rodríguez. Toñi Sánchez, a TCAE from the Neurology department, contributed decorations blending fair motifs with tributes to Málaga Club de Fútbol's promotion.
The hospital has acknowledged the technical and logistical support from Viveros Guzmán and the Andalusian Youth Institute for these activities. The Mayor expressed his gratitude to all collaborators for their involvement in this initiative, which is part of the center's Humanization plan aimed at making patients' stays more pleasant and bringing traditions closer to them.
