These actions, supported by the Málaga City Council, focus on repairing structural and constructive elements that have deteriorated over time. The work includes facade cleaning, carpentry repair, replacement of coverings, plinth treatment, and improvement of finishes. Interventions on interior pavements will also be carried out to restore their original conditions of use and preservation.
The project is part of a preventive maintenance strategy designed to ensure the building's durability and its adaptation to current needs. The technical documentation was prepared by architect José Manuel Ruiz Luque, allowing the execution of the works in accordance with current regulations and facilitating their inclusion in the municipal call for rehabilitation aid.
The work began after Holy Week and will be coordinated with the daily use of the San Julián facilities, ensuring compatibility between regular activities and the execution of the project. This initiative is framed within the public call for subsidies for the rehabilitation, adaptation, and repair of buildings promoted by the Málaga City Council through the Municipal Housing Institute.
The inclusion of such projects in municipal calls reflects a public strategy aimed at preserving built heritage and improving urban quality, especially in areas of historical and cultural value. The intervention at the Brotherhoods Association headquarters contributes to the revitalization of Málaga's historic center, preserving a property of great institutional and social relevance, and strengthening its role as an active space within the city's cultural life. Due to interventions on the access doors to the Church of San Julián, the temple will remain closed to the public from Friday, April 17, until Monday, May 4, when it will reopen at its usual time.
