During his address in the Congress of Deputies, Bendodo advocated for a motion presented by the Popular Group, highlighting the critical railway situation affecting Andalusia. He emphasized how the lack of high-speed connections is directly impacting workers, self-employed individuals, families, and key economic sectors in the province of Malaga, forcing many users to opt for air travel or private vehicles, incurring higher costs.
The popular leader also criticized the absence of effective alternative measures to minimize the impact of the railway cut. Furthermore, he pointed out the problems generated by the interruption of the Cercanías commuter train line between Malaga and Torremolinos, exacerbating the public transport situation in the region.
“"The situation is unsustainable for Malaga and Andalusia."
Among the proposals put forward by the PP, Bendodo mentioned the implementation of a provisional air bridge at a fixed price, the elimination of tolls on the Costa del Sol and in Las Pedrizas, an increase in flights, and direct aid to the most affected sectors. He also demanded technical solutions to avoid bus transfers, such as the use of variable-gauge trains or the implementation of alternative railway services.
Finally, Bendodo demanded accountability for the crisis management and called for the resignation of the responsible minister. He concluded his speech by appealing for the support of other parliamentary groups to approve the measures proposed by his party, arguing that the current situation is unsustainable for the province of Malaga and for all of Andalusia.
