The enrollment period for the 2026/2027 academic year for Infant, Primary, and Special Education in Málaga opened this Monday, affecting over 131,000 students in public schools.

The call for the upcoming 2026/2027 academic year for Infant, Primary, and Special Education in publicly funded schools in Málaga has begun. Interested parties have until next Monday, June 8, to complete enrollment, with an extension until June 10 for the first cycle of Infant education. Across all of Andalusia, nearly 667,000 children are expected to enroll in these educational stages, with over 131,000 from the province of Málaga.
The necessary enrollment forms are available free of charge at the educational centers themselves, as well as on the website of the Regional Ministry of Educational Development and Vocational Training. Enrollment can be completed either at the administrative offices of the schools or online through the Virtual Secretariat.
The trend towards digitalization of the process continues to grow. During the 2025-2026 academic year, over 50% of enrollments for the second cycle of Infant, Primary, and Special Education in Andalusia were processed online, representing a 16.32% increase compared to the previous year. In total, 296,024 online enrollments were recorded last academic year.
This online channel allows families to complete the process from computers or smartphones, avoiding the need to travel to the educational center during working hours. Last year, 59% of users chose to enroll using a mobile device (smartphone or tablet), while the remaining 41% used a computer. The iPASEN application, used by over a million legal guardians, provides direct and authenticated access to the Virtual Secretariat for this procedure.
The Ministry has implemented an authentication and signature method called iANDE, which complements traditional methods such as digital certificates and services from the Clav@ platform. 83% of families have used iANDE for authentication in this procedure, while the remaining 17% have used the Clav@ platform, mostly with a digital certificate.
This online procedure, available for education from the second cycle of Infant to Baccalaureate, is known as the 'enrollment envelope'. It allows for the management of not only curricular subjects but also applications for complementary services such as school meals, morning care, and extracurricular activities, as well as handling data from the European Social Fund, authorizing image use, school pick-up, and religion class selection.
Regarding complementary services, morning care will be offered in 1,661 centers, 22 more than the current academic year. School meal services will be available in 2,056 centers, seven more, and extracurricular activities will be offered in 1,682 centers, five more. Since the 2019-20 academic year, the provision of these complementary services in Andalusian schools has significantly increased.
