The city of Málaga is being presented in Washington D.C. as part of the Hispanic Day celebration. This event is linked to initiatives surrounding the figure of Bernardo de Gálvez, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States.
The Day of Málaga celebration will take place on Thursday, October 8, at the Center for Spanish Culture, where the Andalusian city will be the guest destination. This initiative aims to strengthen cultural and promotional ties between both regions.
Málaga's presence in the US capital continues the promotional efforts the city has been undertaking in the United States. This country is a key strategic long-haul market and Málaga's top non-European market.
The Málaga delegation is led by the mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, and the president of the Provincial Council, Francisco Salado. The planned program includes institutional and professional meetings, as well as various activities focused on the historical figure of Bernardo de Gálvez.
