The Virgen de Luna Municipal Stadium in Pozoblanco will once again be the stage for the U-18 Club World Cup, consolidating the province of Córdoba as a hub for youth football.

Pozoblanco is preparing to host the U-18 Club World Cup for the second consecutive year, an event that in its 17th edition reaffirms the town's commitment to emerging talent. The Virgen de Luna Municipal Stadium, unique in the north of the province with natural grass alongside Córdoba's Bahrain Victorious Nuevo Arcángel, will be one of the main venues.
Mayor Santiago Cabello expressed his pride in hosting the event again, emphasizing the municipality's organizational capacity and the opportunity to welcome future football stars. "Repeating as a host for this World Cup is an honor that confirms Pozoblanco's organizational capability. We are enormously proud that our natural grass hosts the future stars of football, placing our town on the international sports map once again and demonstrating our traditional hospitality," he stated.
Agustín Cantero, the Sports Councilor, highlighted the event's importance for grassroots sports and the region, inviting residents to enjoy the spectacle and benefit from the tourism and economic boost it generates. "This 17th edition is great news for grassroots sports and the entire region. We invite all residents to fill the stands and enjoy a top-level spectacle, which also serves as an undeniable engine for the tourism and economic development of Pozoblanco," he noted.
The tournament will bring together twelve prestigious international youth academies, including teams such as Real Madrid CF, Real Betis, Bayer 04 Leverkusen, and São Paulo FC. Matches will be played not only in Pozoblanco and Córdoba capital but also in other towns in the province such as Cabra, Puente Genil, Palma del Río, Montilla, and Lucena.
The group stage will begin on August 31st and run until September 3rd, with the grand final scheduled for September 9th. The official presentation of the event took place at the Diputación de Córdoba, with the attendance of authorities such as Salvador Fuentes, president of the Diputación, and Antonio Martín, Sports Deputy.
