The intervention, awarded for 174,500 euros, focuses on the complete renewal of sidewalks on both sides of the avenue, which showed significant deterioration. The existing pavement will be replaced with new machined granite slabs, curbs will be installed, and spaces will be reorganized to create more comfortable and safer pedestrian routes.
The mayor of Pozoblanco and Councilor for Urban Planning and Works, Santiago Cabello, highlighted that the project represents a step forward in the municipal plan for improving urban infrastructure. He noted the intervention is necessary to address the area's deterioration, enhancing the accessibility, safety, and functionality of the public space.
The renovation also includes the elimination of architectural barriers, widening of sidewalks, and reorganization of pedestrian crossings. Parking areas will be rearranged, and new tree pits will be integrated for planting according to the Pozoblanco Tree Master Plan.
Additionally, an automated irrigation system will be installed for green space maintenance. The integral water cycle concessionaire, Hidralia, will renew the potable water supply network, including new pipelines and domestic connections, for a comprehensive improvement of the avenue's basic infrastructure.
