This new phase of the asphalt plan, with the collaboration of the Provincial Council of Córdoba through the Diputación Invierte 2026 program, will focus on improving the road surface of streets with significant residential use and main urban communication arteries.
The project is divided into four main action zones: the neighborhood of Avenida de la Estación, the neighborhood of Las Malvinas, the Ronda de Circunvalación, and streets in the neighborhood of Los Ríos or Pintores.
One of the most significant interventions will be the improvement of the Ronda de Circunvalación, a main urban artery and a priority demand from residents due to its high traffic volume and current condition after infrastructure works. This action complements the installation of over 2,000 linear meters of new supply and sewage networks, aimed at decongesting the central network and improving drinking water supply.
The mayor of Pozoblanco, Santiago Cabello, stated that this intervention is a priority to restore adequate usage conditions to the road and complete previous works on the Integral Water Cycle. He thanked the institutional cooperation of the Provincial Council of Córdoba for undertaking projects with significant citizen impact.
The first action zone covers the Avenida de la Estación neighborhood (5,201 m²), including streets such as Hilario Ángel Calero and Manuel Luna Rivera. The second zone, Las Malvinas, includes the paving of 13,090 m² on streets like Cádiz and Clara Campoamor, continuing the neighborhood's renovation.
The third zone focuses on the Ronda Circunvalación, and the fourth on streets in the Los Ríos or Pintores neighborhood (12,230 m²), such as Baldomero Pagán and Río Guadamora.
Technically, the project includes prior milling and the application of a new hot bituminous asphalt layer of 4 or 5 centimeters, depending on traffic density. After paving, manhole covers and existing drains will be adjusted, and signage will be applied.
This phase is added to the 2026 Asphalt Plan, which has already executed over 13,000 m² and tendered a second phase covering more than 55,000 m² in the El Silo neighborhood and the Dehesa Boyal I Industrial Park.
