New outdoor gymnastics circuit in Hinojosa del Duque, featuring sports equipment and green areas.
The Hinojosa del Duque City Council has inaugurated a new gymnastics circuit in the 'La Dehesa' Industrial Park, a space designed to encourage outdoor exercise and promote healthy lifestyle habits.
This new facility, designed for outdoor exercise and the promotion of healthy lifestyle habits, was made possible by a grant from the European Union and the Junta de Andalucía, as part of the LEADER measure and developed with the collaboration of the Rural Development Group (GDR) of Los Pedroches, funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
The initiative responds to the municipal commitment to improving sports and leisure infrastructure, integrating physical activity into an accessible natural environment. The project expands the offering of public facilities and aims to enhance the quality of life for residents in a scenic location.
As part of the environmental improvements, new trees have been planted to create future shaded areas, enhancing thermal comfort. A drinking water fountain and an lighting system have been installed to allow for safe physical activity after sunset, keeping the space open permanently.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the mayor, Matías González, accompanied by members of the municipal government team: Santiago Jesús Aranda, Enrique Tocados, María Antonia Ramírez, Agustín Romera, and María Dolores Aranda.
“
"We are deeply satisfied to see this sports circuit materialized, as physical exercise is an essential part of our neighbors' daily lives. Beyond the initial investment, we will continue to implement new resources based on the population's needs."
Mayor Matías González highlighted the municipal corporation's effort and announced work to improve the area's access roads, mentioning a future access route via the San Bartolomé track. He encouraged citizens to use the new space and contribute suggestions.
“
"I wish everyone great encouragement to enjoy this sports facility designed by and for Hinojosa del Duque, and we reaffirm our full willingness to receive any proposals or suggestions that contribute to further enriching this area."
The Councilor for Environment and Gardens, Santiago Jesús Aranda, emphasized the importance of the landscape improvements, stating that “the circuit is in optimal condition for use”. Enrique Tocados valued the diversification of outdoor sports facilities and called for civic responsibility in caring for the installed equipment and infrastructure.
By opening this facility in the 'La Dehesa' Industrial Park, the Hinojosa del Duque City Council reaffirms its commitment to revitalizing peri-urban areas and consolidating public spaces for community and health, encouraging responsible use.
