Two low-magnitude earthquakes, measuring 2.5 and 2, have been detected by the National Geographic Institute (IGN) in the province of Granada within minutes of each other. The first tremor occurred at 11:56 AM in Montillana, with a magnitude of 2.5 and a depth of zero kilometers. Shortly after, another movement of magnitude 2 was registered in Noalejo, at a depth of one kilometer.
According to information provided by the provincial institution, these are low-intensity movements, and no significant damage is expected. Residents in nearby municipalities may have felt vibrations or slight shaking, which is common in such seismic episodes.
The Delegation of Municipal Assistance and Emergencies of the Provincial Council is coordinating preventively with emergency services to monitor the situation and act in case of any incidents. The public is advised to remain calm and report any anomalies through the usual emergency channels.
Currently, no personal or material damage has been reported as a result of these earthquakes. The province of Granada is an area with high seismic activity in Spain, making these low-magnitude movements relatively frequent and constantly monitored by the IGN.
