Road surface improvement works in the thoroughfares of Torre Cardela and Guadahortuna have been completed by the Regional Government of Andalusia. These actions are part of the Asphalt Plan and focus on renewing essential road infrastructure for communication within the province.
Starting this Monday, June 29th, the works will continue on an eight-kilometer stretch of the A401 road, connecting Torre Cardela with Morelábor. This route is considered the most direct for residents of Torre Cardela, facilitating their connection not only with Morelábor but also with the A92 highway.
The total investment for the Asphalt Plan in the province of Granada amounts to 17.5 million euros, aiming to comprehensively renew numerous roads. The specific works on the A401 are located between kilometer markers 74 and 82, concluding at the junction with the Iznalloz-Darro road (A308).
The Andalusian Asphalt Plan has a budget of 151.5 million euros. Planned interventions include the repair of defects such as potholes and soft spots, pavement milling and replacement, restoration of lower layers, asphalt mixture laying, pavement sealing, and updating of horizontal signage and containment and beaconing elements.
Additionally, the replacement of expansion joints in structures and coils in gauging stations is contemplated. These contracts, with an estimated duration of seven months, may be extended, allowing for increased budgets and road sections addressed.
