“"This office represents the model of tourism we want for Mojácar: innovative, accessible, and deeply proud of its roots. We are not only equipping the old town with a reception center worthy of our destination, but we are also connecting visitors with our history from the very first moment thanks to the views of Mojácar la Vieja."

The Mojácar Town Hall has inaugurated the new headquarters of its Municipal Tourist Office, a space combining artificial intelligence, universal accessibility, and a design faithful to the town's traditional architecture.
The new Municipal Tourist Office in Mojácar, inaugurated today, is strategically located at the entrance to Plaza Nueva, the nerve center of the historic quarter. This project was developed within the framework of Mojácar's Plan for Sustainable Tourism in Destinations (PSTD).
The space has been transformed into a modern, highly technological, and inclusive service point, designed to welcome the approximately 50,000 visitors the office serves annually. The design features a renewed image that pays homage to the town's traditional architecture, integrating rounded shapes, white and blue colors, and decorative details characteristic of Mojácar.
In addition to its prime location, the venue offers spectacular direct views of the archaeological site of Mojácar la Vieja, connecting tourist services with the municipality's historical origins.
Functionally, the facilities prioritize universal accessibility and innovation. They are fully inclusive, 100% accessible, and feature a magnetic loop system for individuals with hearing difficulties and a Braille printer for issuing documentation adapted for visually impaired people.
The office is equipped with interactive devices for self-information, audio guides, and access to the Cicerone platform. This tool allows tourists to create personalized itineraries based on their preferences and variables such as length of stay or traveler profile.
Regarding sustainability, both visitors and tourist agents can digitally send customized information to their personal devices, thereby reducing paper usage and carbon footprint.
During the opening ceremony, attended by Mr. Francisco Góngora, Government Delegate of the Junta de Andalucía, Mr. Juan José Alonso, Provincial Delegate for Culture and Heritage, Mr. José Manuel López Suárez, Tourism Delegate for Granada and Almería, and Ana Lourdes Ramírez, Provincial Deputy, the mayor expressed the vision for the new center.
This intervention strengthens the municipality's visitor service network, complemented by the new zonal tourist information point in Mojácar Playa, also executed under the PSTD. The project, named MODERNIZATION OF THE MOJÁCAR TOURIST INFORMATION POINT, had a budget of €85,247.34.
