The poetry collection A destiempo, published by Talón de Aquiles, focuses on absences, love, and moments that endure over time. Written with direct language and a particular rhythm, its verses invite reflection on unlived stories, non-existent abandonments, and unwelcoming cities.
The work also addresses current politics and the importance of freedom, without neglecting love and life. In this stage of literary maturity, López shares the pain of having overcome several oncological processes, an experience that has left a deep mark on her writing.
Born in Almería in 1968, Carmen López holds a degree in Hispanic Philology from the University of Granada since 1992. Her professional career has been linked to media outlets such as El País, El Mundo, and La Voz de Almería. She is an avid reader, an admirer of poets like Salinas, Gil de Biedma, Cernuda, and Chantal Maillard, whose influences she has integrated to forge her own literary style.
At 57 years old, López returns to poetry after having previously published the collection Avenida Silencios and the novel El hombre que vivió tres vidas, with Arráez Editores, in addition to collaborating in various joint publications with short stories and micro-stories.
During the presentation, Carmen López will be accompanied by Antonia Sánchez Villanueva, a doctor in Human and Social Sciences, with degrees in French and Romance Philology and Journalism. Sánchez Villanueva was for many years the deputy director of La Voz de Almería and Cadena SER Almería, and currently works as a professor and Communication advisor at the University of Almería.
The event, organized by the cultural association Argaria, will take place at 8:00 PM at Cafetería Leo in Antas.
