“"What we experienced in this CADEBA demonstrates the great moment women's handball is going through in our province. Three teams among the top four in Andalusia, with all representatives competing at a high level, is no coincidence. Behind this are countless hours of work, training, and dedication from clubs, coaches, families, and players. It is also important to highlight the role of women within the technical staffs, as there are increasingly more prepared and committed women leading and helping this sport grow."

Almería's sports scene is celebrating one of its greatest recent achievements in the CADEBA U-12 Women's Championship 2026. Three clubs from the province have placed among the top four teams in Andalusia, showcasing the remarkable growth and quality of handball in the region. BM Roquetas secured the Andalusian runner-up title, BM Carboneras achieved a commendable third place, and BM Urci finished in fourth position. These accomplishments underscore the competitiveness and solid youth training programs of Almería's clubs.
The three representatives from Almería completed an outstanding group stage, leading their respective groups before the final knockout rounds. BM Carboneras had a particularly emotional journey, winning their group and advancing to the semi-finals. After an intense battle, they defeated BM Urci in the bronze medal match, securing a historic podium finish.
The semi-final match between BM Roquetas and BM Carboneras was a highly physical and closely contested game. A red card expulsion for a key player from BM Carboneras influenced the game's development, although the team demonstrated great character until the very end.
Beyond the results, the championship highlights the extraordinary level of women's handball in Almería and the diligent work of the clubs from the grassroots level. A generation of young athletes has competed with bravery and passion, bringing their municipalities' names to the Andalusian elite. Recognition is also given to the significant role of women in the technical staff, such as Laura Muñoz (BM Roquetas), Andrea Pérez (BM Urci), Ana María Ruiz (BM Carboneras), and Candela Bernal (BM Bahía), who are paving the way in Andalusian handball.
