Since last Friday, self-employed individuals and SMEs in the province of Almería affected by the storms of early 2026 can access a 50-million-euro aid package from the Junta de Andalucía, with application deadlines varying by support line.

The Official Gazette of the Junta de Andalucía (BOJA) has published the call for these subsidies, designed to sustain activity and employment in the Andalusian productive sector that suffered the effects of the storms between January and February 2026. The initiative, with a total allocation of 50 million euros for the entire community, focuses in Almería on SMEs and self-employed individuals with business addresses in the most affected municipalities, as detailed by Amós García Hueso, territorial delegate for Employment, Business and Self-Employment.
The call is structured into three aid lines. Line 1, with a budget of 38 million euros, is aimed at self-employed workers and SMEs in specific municipalities listed in Annex I, identified as those most affected by meteorological phenomena. This line offers two modalities: one to support the maintenance of activity and employment for the self-employed, and another to promote the maintenance of employment for their salaried staff.
In the province of Almería, eligible municipalities for Line 1 include Alboloduy, Albox, Balanegra, Benahadux, Berja, Cantoria, Carboneras, Chirivel, Dalías, Instinción, La Mojonera, Los Gallardos, Lucainena de las Torres, Mojácar, Nacimiento, Pulpí, Santa Fe de Mondújar, Sorbas, Tabernas, Turre, Vélez-Rubio, Viator, and Zurgena.
Line 2, with 10 million euros, is aimed at self-employed workers integrated into the Special Agrarian System and SMEs with business addresses in municipalities in Annex II, defined by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development as areas with agricultural holdings affected by floods. It also has two modalities similar to Line 1, focused on maintaining agricultural activity and associated employment.
Almerian municipalities that can apply for Line 2 aid are Alcóntar, Antas, Cuevas del Almanzora, Huércal-Overa, Mojácar, Pulpí, Vera, Níjar, Lucainena de las Torres, Tabernas, María, Vélez-Blanco, and Gérgal.
Finally, Line 3, with 2 million euros, is intended for self-employed individuals and SMEs who are already beneficiaries of aid from Royal Decree-Law 5/2026, of February 17, and whose activity centers are not included in Annex I, thus expanding the scope of support. This line replicates the modalities of Line 1.
The aid amounts for self-employed individuals total 2,000 euros per beneficiary. For SMEs and self-employed individuals with salaried staff, the subsidy is calculated based on the employment level, with 3,500 euros per full-time employee and a maximum of 35,000 euros per beneficiary and modality. Processing is entirely electronic and non-competitive, which speeds up resolution times. Payment will be made in a single 100% installment of the granted amount.
The deadline for submitting applications for Lines 1 and 2 began on April 10 and ends on June 30. For Line 3, the deadline extends until October 5, due to the need to previously accredit state aid, whose application period concludes on June 30 with a three-month resolution period.
