The Civil Guard has concluded an investigation that led to the arrest of a 60-year-old man in the town of Villanueva del Arzobispo, in the north of the province of Jaén. The individual was intercepted while driving his vehicle, inside which approximately four kilograms of marijuana, allegedly intended for distribution, and 1,900 euros in cash, suspected of originating from illicit activities, were found.
The investigation, carried out by the ROCA Team of the Beas de Segura Civil Guard Company, was not limited to the discovery of drugs. Subsequent inquiries allowed the same detainee to be linked to other property crimes. He is accused of the alleged authorship of a robbery with force in a home and a theft in a commercial establishment, both perpetrated in the municipality of Villacarrillo.
Thanks to the work of the agents, all the stolen items from the robberies in Villacarrillo were recovered and returned to their rightful owners. This case highlights the connection between drug trafficking and property crimes in the northern Jaén region. The proceedings have been placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority for prosecution.
