This festival, scheduled from May 15 to 17 and May 22 to 24, will offer a completely free program bringing performing arts to emblematic locations such as Plaza Vázquez de Molina, Plaza de Santo Domingo, Eras del Alcázar, Plaza Juan de Valencia, Parque Norte, and the Church of San Lorenzo.
The initiative combines street theater, puppetry, acrobatics, juggling, live music, clowning, and improvisation, featuring companies from various regions of Spain, including Andalusia, Valencia, Galicia, the Community of Madrid, the Balearic Islands, and Extremadura, as well as a company from Germany. This solidifies the national and international character of this cultural event, which is already well-established in the Jaén cultural calendar.
The first weekend, from May 15 to 17, will kick off on Friday, May 15, at 8:00 PM in Plaza Vázquez de Molina with 'Sublunar' by the Botproject company. Saturday, May 16, will feature three proposals: 'El último que apague la luz' by A Vela Circo in Plaza Santo Domingo, 'Morpha' by Andrea Ríos in Plaza Vázquez de Molina, and 'Eco' by Ymedio Teatro in Plaza Juan de Valencia. Sunday, May 17, will include a family Circus Workshop in Eras del Alcázar.
The second weekend, from May 22 to 24, will begin on Friday, May 22, at 8:00 PM in Plaza Vázquez de Molina with 'Veló como un rayo' by Javi Javichi. “"Initiatives like ‘Cucha de Primavera’ have a direct impact on family tourism, which finds in these types of events an incentive to visit the city for several days, positively affecting hospitality, commerce, and services."
The Culture Councilor of Úbeda emphasized the festival's significance beyond the cultural sphere, highlighting its positive impact on family tourism and, consequently, on the local economy. She also reaffirmed the city's commitment to establishing itself as a cultural benchmark in the province.
