The World Heritage city of Úbeda yesterday began its 2026 Renaissance Festival with an inaugural event that drew hundreds of attendees. The celebration transported participants back to the 16th century, filling the streets with history, music, and color.
The inaugural parade featured hundreds of costumed participants and associations who paraded through the historic center. The initial historical reenactments allowed attendees to relive moments from the 16th century.
This year's festival holds special significance as it is dedicated to the 500th anniversary of Emperor Charles V's entry into the city, a milestone that profoundly shaped Úbeda's history and is being extraordinarily brought to life this year in its streets and monumental squares.
