The exhibition ‘Córdoba Romana. La ciudad oculta’ moves closer to its opening on November 5th at Vimcorsa, following the contract award to Studio Etérea for 196,020 euros.

The project for the major exhibition on the Roman past of Córdoba, aiming to offer a renewed perspective on the ancient city, enters its most tangible phase. Studio Etérea has secured the contract to materialize the museographic proposal, submitting a bid of 196,020 euros (VAT included), representing a saving of 22,986 euros from the tender budget.
The commission encompasses the design, manufacturing, and installation of all museographic elements, including modular walls, display cases, pedestals, backlit infographics, mappings, and audiovisual resources. The adaptation of Vimcorsa's spaces, lighting, and graphics are also part of the contract, which seeks to create an immersive spatial narrative of Roman Córdoba.
Technology will play a crucial role, featuring four single-channel audiovisual pieces, an immersive audiovisual, and mappings. The organization will provide high-resolution (4K) images and animations, while the contractor will be responsible for their technical integration.
The exhibition will showcase over a hundred pieces, with a combined insured value of 8,346,500 euros. Highlights include two works from the Louvre Museum, valued at 3.2 million euros, and a piece from the Glyptothek of Munich worth one million. The artifacts originate from various museums and institutions, including the National Archaeological Museum (33 pieces) and the Archaeological and Ethnological Museum of Córdoba (56 pieces).
The timeline is tight, with the basic and execution project to be drafted within 28 days, followed by manufacturing and installation. The transport and assembly of the valuable pieces will require specific packaging, prior conservation, and customs procedures, all under preventive conservation criteria.
The project, whose scientific content has been defined by curator Desiderio Vaquerizo, aims to showcase the historical richness of Córdoba through contemporary museographic resources and interpretations of heritage, making visible the 'hidden city' beneath the current urban landscape.
