During a visit to the hospital facilities in Vejer, the socialists expressed their concern over what they describe as a "state of abandonment" of the center. They have linked this situation to the collapse of other hospitals in the province, emphasizing the saturation and difficulties in accessing emergency services.
“"Healthcare professionals are not protesting every week because they are bored, but because of the saturation and collapse they are suffering."
The mayor of Vejer has criticized the statements of a regional minister after his visit to the area, recalling that the deadline for the tender for the works of the Vejer Health Center has expired without news. The mayor has expressed the distrust of the residents regarding what he considers unfulfilled promises.
The criticisms extended to other regional public services. In education, the closure of 3,000 public classrooms in Andalucía over the last eight years has been denounced, 700 of them in the Cádiz province, mainly affecting working-class neighborhoods. Regarding Dependency, a significant increase in waiting times has been noted, rising from 200 to 600 days in the province since 2018.
“"The PP believes that those who do not have money to pay for private services should 'fend for themselves'."
Ahead of the upcoming regional elections on May 17, a call has been made for the "democratic rebellion" of progressive voters, urging massive participation to curb a model that, according to the socialists, seeks to "turn public services into a business". The PSOE of Cádiz reaffirms its commitment to restore the original functionality of the HARE of La Janda and ensure equitable healthcare.
