The blaze broke out on the afternoon of June 28 and mobilized three personnel and two vehicles from the Conil de la Frontera fire station. The alert was received around 5:00 PM.
Before the firefighters arrived, an off-duty police officer managed to contain the fire using two extinguishers. Their swift action prevented the flames from spreading to other areas, facilitating the subsequent work of the emergency services.
Upon arrival of the Provincial Fire Consortium of Cádiz (CBPC) personnel, the fire was under control. They proceeded to cool the affected area and complete the extinguishment to prevent any reignition. No personal injuries were reported.
The storage room contained bicycles and surfboards, which were damaged by the flames. The causes of the fire have not yet been detailed. The incident was resolved without the fire spreading.
The Fire Consortium reminded the public of the importance of immediately alerting emergency services to any fire outbreak and acting with caution.
