The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon when several witnesses alerted the 112 Andalucía emergency service about a person falling from the well-known Mirador Bendito, a popular panoramic viewpoint in the Malaga municipality of Nerja.
Immediately, the emergency coordination center activated the Guardia Civil, the 061 Health Emergency Center, and the Local Police to address the situation. Upon arrival, the medical teams found the injured person in a difficult-to-access area, which prevented direct evacuation.
Due to the challenging terrain, the intervention of the Malaga Provincial Consortium Firefighters was requested, and they took charge of the rescue operation. The personnel successfully rescued the man, who had fallen about three meters, and carried him to where the ambulance was waiting.
Subsequently, the injured person was transferred to the Axarquía hospital for medical attention. As of now, no further details have been provided regarding the identity of the accident victim or his current health status.
Mirador Bendito is one of Nerja's most emblematic tourist spots, known for its stunning views of the cliffs and the sea. Carabeo beach, located at its base, is primarily accessible by stairs or by sea, which complicates rescue operations in the event of incidents.
