The book, titled El clima de Lucas (Lucas's Weather), was written by a teacher from El Morche and will be officially presented on Thursday, April 23, at the Hotel Costamar at 7:00 PM. Prior to this, the Central Library will host the awards ceremony for the II Children and Youth Poetry Contest starting at 5:30 PM.
The author, an early childhood education teacher, stated that her vocation drives her to create stories that invite children to discover and understand their surroundings, fostering curiosity, empathy, and the development of emotional intelligence. Her goal is to address children's questions and concerns, accompanying them in their personal and emotional growth in a close and respectful manner.
“"El clima de Lucas is a sensitive and colorful children's story that invites children and their families to understand and respect emotions from a loving and inclusive perspective."
The book tells the story of Lucas, a child with a vivid imagination who perceives his emotions as weather phenomena. Through everyday scenes, Lucas learns to recognize his inner feelings while observing what happens around him. With the support of his family, he discovers simple tools to manage moments of overstimulation, fear, or sadness, such as slow breathing or seeking comfort.
The work is especially recommended for highly sensitive children or those on the autism spectrum, as well as for adults interested in promoting emotional education, empathy, and respect for diversity. The story emphasizes that all emotions are valid and changeable, like the weather, and that they make us unique.
