The incident occurred while officers from the Udyco-Costa del Sol unit were conducting surveillance at an industrial warehouse in the Axarquía region. The facility was being used by a criminal organization to store fuel and high-speed boats intended for drug trafficking.

During the raid, two vehicles occupied by several individuals arrived at the scene and opened fire on the officers. Despite the intensity of the attack, no police personnel were injured. Following the exchange of gunfire, the suspects fled at high speed, colliding with each other and endangering other drivers while escaping along the A-7 motorway towards Málaga.

As a result of the initial investigation, authorities have arrested two individuals, a man and a woman, linked to the criminal group. Currently, the Scientific Police are conducting a technical inspection of the warehouse to gather evidence. Inside, officers discovered several drug-smuggling boats and a van loaded with fuel tanks, estimated to contain up to 5,000 liters.
