The Vélez-Málaga Sports Department and the Grupo de Senderismo del 17 have organized the IX Women's Mountain Route, a moderate difficulty trek between Salares and Sedella scheduled for Sunday, May 10.
This edition of the route, set in the Axarquía region, will offer a circular itinerary of approximately 10 kilometers with an estimated duration of five hours. The aim is to combine sports practice with family coexistence in a natural environment of great beauty.
“
"This route is already a consolidated event in our sports calendar, which not only promotes physical activity and healthy lifestyle habits, but also coexistence and knowledge of our natural environment."
The moderately difficult route is accessible to hikers with average experience and will pass through sites of great heritage value. Points of interest include the Church of San Antón, the Arab bridge of Salares, the Chorro fountain, the Roman bridge of Sedella, and the Hermitage of Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza.
Bus departure is scheduled from Vélez-Málaga at 08:00 AM, next to the Guardia Civil barracks, with a subsequent stop in Torre del Mar at 08:15 AM. Those interested in participating can register until Wednesday, May 6 via the email provided by the organization, with a cost of 6 euros for non-federated participants.
“
"I encourage hiking enthusiasts to join us for this experience; I am convinced that they will enjoy a beautiful day of coexistence exploring some of the most emblematic landscapes of our Axarquía land."
The organization has reminded participants of the importance of bringing appropriate hiking gear, such as mountain footwear, layered clothing, sun protection, water, and food, as well as respecting the guides' instructions and the rules of the natural environment at all times.
