The Mancomunidad de Municipios de la Costa del Sol Axarquía, the Benamargosa City Council, and the entity Creanda Cosas have presented the program for this event, which aims to raise the visibility of the community, recognize work towards equality, and advance towards a more inclusive society.
Marilé Muñiz, vice-president of the Mancomunidad, highlighted the importance of these celebrations, noting that more and more municipalities in Axarquía are joining the initiative. "We must continue to demand the equality that all people deserve," she stated, condemning "all forms of intolerance and denialism" and defending sexual freedom and diversity.
Mari Carmen Jaime, Councilor for Equality of the Benamargosa City Council, recalled that the municipality has been celebrating this day for eight years, becoming a "benchmark for diversity, respect, equality, and freedom." She emphasized that the celebration "continues to grow thanks to the commitment of residents, groups, and entities" and that Pride is "a demand for the rights conquered" and an opportunity to "combat situations of discrimination and inequality," especially in "small municipalities."
As part of the program, the stairs of the CEIP Miguel Fortes Fortes have been painted with rainbow colors, in collaboration with the educational community, leaving a "visible mark of commitment to diversity and inclusion."
Fran Nove, head of Creanda Cosas, detailed that the program is "designed for all audiences and ages," highlighting the importance of holding it in "a small town compared to big cities where it is much more normalized."
The event will take place this Saturday, June 27th, at Llano del Río starting at 8:30 PM. The day will begin with children's entertainment focused on the Guerreras K-Pop, featuring songs and activities to raise awareness and promote diversity.
At 9:30 PM, the institutional ceremony will be held with the reading of the manifesto and the presentation of the Premios Ogullo Benamargosa, hosted by Vedette Deivis and Fran Nove. Afterwards, Antonio Termal will offer a tribute to Raphael.
Starting at 10:30 PM, Bingofest will commence, a musical show that will include drag performances by Olivia Tobella, Vedette Deivis, and Drag Iris, who will host the event alongside Berni Muriana. The music will be provided by dj Fran Nove, and there will be contests and surprises.
The night will conclude from 12:30 AM onwards with concerts by Paula Muñoz and Las Chicas de la Farándula.
