The Axarquía region is preparing to host the inaugural 'Hyrcross Game' Hybrid League, an innovative sports circuit making its debut in southern Spain after successful events in other communities. The initiative, supported by the Mancomunidad de Municipios de la Costa del Sol Axarquía and the Asociación Impulsa Axarquía, aims to establish the area as a hub for endurance sports.
Organizers anticipate the participation of over 2,000 athletes across the four scheduled events. Online registrations for this competition, designed for individuals over 18 and adaptable to various fitness levels, will open on July 1st.
The 'Hyrcross Game' competition format merges 6 kilometers of running with 6 high-intensity functional workouts. After each running segment, participants must complete specific exercises such as rowing, sandbag lunges, ski simulation, farmer's carry, burpee broad jumps, and wall balls. To be eligible for the overall league classification, competitors must participate in at least three of the four events.
The venue calendar spans from September to December. The first event will be held in Algarrobo on September 5th, followed by Vélez-Málaga on October 10th, and Nerja on November 14th. The grand finale is scheduled for December 12th in Benamocarra.
The league will offer various registration options, including individual categories (male and female), pairs (including mixed), and four-person teams. In addition to the sporting challenge and community gathering, the league will award cash prizes totaling 500 euros per category.
