During his stay in Jaén, the minister for Digital Transformation and Public Function focused his speech on the Andalusian election campaign, accusing the Popular Party of politically instrumentalizing the deaths of two civil guards on the coast of Huelva.
“"I regret that this issue has been used in the campaign."
The minister defended the central Government's management in the fight against drug trafficking, highlighting a 20 percent increase in resources and the doubling of Civil Guard staff and calls for applications in the last seven years. He stressed that drug trafficking is an international problem and expressed solidarity with the families of the deceased agents.
In the electoral sphere, the minister strongly backed the socialist candidate for the presidency of the Junta de Andalucía, praising her management at the head of the Ministry of Finance and linking it to the country's positive economic and social data.
“"There is no one better than the socialist candidate to preside over the Junta de Andalucía."
For his part, a local socialist leader criticized the Andalusian president, accusing him of failing to deliver on promises to Jaén and of maintaining management detrimental to the capital. He mentioned pending projects such as the tram, the Health City, and the City of Justice, contrasting this situation with municipal management and advocating for the need for a regional Government that supports Jaén.
