The Association of Accommodation Companies, Campsites, Tourist and Cultural Services, Active Tourism, and Leisure of the province of Jaén (Turjaén) has conducted a survey among the province's tourist establishments to gauge occupancy expectations for the upcoming month of July. The collected data indicates that the average occupancy forecast for the province as a whole stands at 47.10%. This figure represents a decrease of 2.2 percentage points compared to the actual occupancy recorded in the same period last year.
By destination, the Natural Park of Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas leads the forecasts with an estimated occupancy of 58.23%. It is followed by Jaén capital, which reaches 57.10%, and Sierra Mágina, with 53.80%. Other destinations such as Úbeda and Baeza show a forecast of 41.36%, while Despeñaperros would reach 39.18%, Sierra Sur 36.10%, and the region of Sierra de Andújar 35.15%.
Turjaén emphasizes that these figures are estimates made several weeks before the start of the month. Therefore, they could experience variations as last-minute bookings progress, particularly in nature and rural tourism destinations, which traditionally see significant movement close to the stay dates.
The association also notes that the final market behavior will depend on factors such as weather conditions, the evolution of last-minute bookings, and the holding of activities and events that may encourage tourist travel during the summer.
